Run script on remote box w/o install on remote box
I perform QA for a desktop engineering/support group. Is there a test automation tool that I can create the script on a designated box and then run on a remote machine without installing anything on the remote machine? If anything only minimal DLLs on the remote machines or something that creates an EXE that I can just run on the clean test machine. I have tried QTP but since what I am testing is the installation packages integrating with the custom corp image having QTP installed kind of skews the test bed.

FYI, no free tools will offer GUI based design, you'd have to code the automation script. AutoIT is best (known) among free tools. Others to consider would be Microsoft's UI automation framework or white.codeplex.com.
You might want to take a look at Ranorex. It's commercial and had ability to create .NET executables. It had a recorder script generator tool and an object spy tool. It might be useful for you.
