Hi everyone, i've been manual testing .Net applications, mostly web based, for about a year and finally got to have some time dedicated to research automation and performance testing. I've read everything I come across so far.

I'm currently analyzing the available tools (so far watir, selenium and jmeter are heading the ranking, no licensed tools have been considered yet).

Something my PM asked me was if there would be any integration between the test cases I would do and the unit tests the Dev team carry or if there would be redundancy between each other.

One of the Tech leads mentioned that Visual studio (the current ide of the dev team) has some automation/perf capabilities and then i found this: Visual Studio Test Professional . Could VS be considered a viable tool? does anyone have any experience with it?

I feel a little cautious since i'm trying to implement this from scratch. Absolutely any advice will be of help here.
