I am software test engineer with experience in manual testing. I am working in a Product development company. Our products are developed in Java platform.
I am planning to learn some automation tools. Please suggest a automation tool that supports Java applications (with Oracle as the data base) and being widely used in the industry (it should also provide me good career options ).
Please suggest both Record & Playback and scripting tools.
I have come across a automation tool called Sahi. Please share your opinions on this tool.

This is hard since different countries have different industries, tools that are preferred (people in India may prefer tools made there, Americans prefer American and so on) and you also have far more to worry about than just language and database. There's lots that goes into a tool, and if you are doing it in large part to make yourself marketable later on then you need a commercial tool since places that use it look solely for that experience. To me, if you can learn one tool, you can learn others so pick one that seems to work with what you have to deal with and go from there.
Just from what you have asked about I'd say look at the various forums here, or look at Open Source Testing for more options.
Nothing learns better than experience.
