Automation Tool Evaluation: TestComplete or QA Wiz
Iím in the early stages of evaluating automation software. The company I work for doesnít have any at present.
I have minimal experience of SilkTest in a previous role/company.
Iíve looked at Test Complete and am now looking at QA Wizard. I like both user interfaces and would be using it initially for web based GUI app and SQL backend database over VPN. Code used is C# and use .net 3.5. Moving forward I envisage the automation tool chosen to be used with unit testing (where app not available) and load testing.
Iíve been through previous postings in this area and apologise in advance if Iím duplicating any previous posts which may have been applicable that Iíve missed.
From user experiences where you may have had the opportunity to use both; what would be your recommendations for either tool? What are the pros and cons from userís experiences?
Re: Automation Tool Evaluation: TestComplete or QA
If you ask me, I would say Test Complete is the best between the two.
I have been using Winrunner since 1999 and then shifted to Quick test professional in 2005, but in my current company they were not willing to spend so much money on such expensive tools so I evaluated a couple of tools and finally moved to Test complete.
I must say for the amount of money it has more stuff a person could handle. secondly if you have a good sence of programing you can take you test scripts to any level.
the kind of testing which you have described that are required by you and your organization, If you ever think that there is some limitation of this tool and you cannot do any thing more in it do let me know
