I thought those java methods are only for developers I never knew this time would come.

    Java is probably the best/greatest software to use for API testing of Java methods.

    Or you could have someone else write the code for you.

    Re: Software for API testing?

    is that the way it is?, what we are doing right now is to run the methods via the address bar of the browser and provide some paramters. So i was looking for a way to make this automated instead of inputing it manually on browser

    I use WinTask to automate my browser.

    If that's what you are shooting for, WinTask (or pretty much any other web-enabled automation tool) might work for you as well.

    Re: Software for API testing?

    So all you are looking for is a tool to automate the URL/address input (with different parameters) in your browser?

    Re: Software for API testing?

    yeah.. something like that,,

    example:

    //methods

    burmetohell

    - pamaters ( sessionid, name)

    signup

    - paramters ( login, email,password)

    //run on url

    wwww.example.com/burnmetohell/?sessiondid=ada80fwefoan&name=nemo

    www.example.com/signup/?loginname=nemo&email=nemo@qaforums.com&pa ssword=testing

    thants the sample URLs, that's how I ran the API methods on the URL, so I was lookin for a nice software to automated the parameter inputs so no need to type all the time

    Re: Software for API testing?

    Use a free tool like WinTask or AutoIt.

    Put all of your test methods into a spreadsheet or text file.

    Write some simple code with your tool of choice (I use AutoIt for these simple tasks) to read the test parameters and automatically type them into the web browser and hit enter.

    Wait for the browser readystate to become complete and verify your test by reading the browser text.

    Rinse and repeat as much as you need.

    This is a very simple task you are asking about. Just take what you do manually by entering the URLs into the browser and write them with simple basic code.
    If this or any response has helped you, please reply to the thread stating that it worked so other people with a similar issue will know how you fixed your issue!

    Ciege...
