Tools for testing Openlink Endur ETRM application

    Hi forum members,
Does anybody know of any automated test tools that can be used to test the Openlink Endur ETRM energy trading application? ETRM is Energy Trading and Risk Management, by the way.
I've tried using HP Mercury's QTP but it fails to identify the objects with the Openlink Endur GUI and just sees it as an image.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Re: Tools for testing Openlink Endur ETRM applicat

Our tool Eggplant doesn't rely on identifying objects within an application. Instead, it works through the actual user interface just like a person does. This allows it to automate pretty much anything, regardless of how it was developed. If the other tools you've looked at don't work, you may want to give Eggplant a try.

Thanks for your reply, Doug. I'll try using your Eggplant tool and see if it does the jobs.

Hi - I realise this is a bit of a late followup, but how did you get on with Eggplant? Be interested to hear your experience, as we have similar requirements.

    Regards,

    Paul.

    Paul,

Probably the best way to find out if Eggplant will work for your particular situation is to get an evaluation copy and give it a try. Many of our customers have found that Eggplant is able to automate things that were difficult or impossible to work with using other tools. For example, see the story about Telvent Miner & Miner here.

Re: Tools for testing Openlink Endur ETRM application

OpenLink has several testing services that can assist with automating and execution of your test scripts. In addition, OpenLink is in the final stages of testing a Mercury QTP Plugin that will identify the objects within the Endur Graphical Interface. This solution will be Generally Available within the next few months.

Re: Tools for testing Openlink Endur ETRM application

    Hi Richard;
Any idea when this plugin will be available ?
I need a way to automate my Endur testing and as you know Quick Test Pro will not capture the Endur events.
    Thanks

Hi - Has anyone managed to automate OpenLink Endur with QTP? If so, what plug-in is needed? And what version of QTP is the plug-in available?

    Thanks,
    K
