Automating application which uses WPF controls
Hello All out there,
I hope you guys can help me out. I have to automate our application which is using wpf controls. Its a windows based application. When I tried to just start the application as described in the article 'http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc163288.aspx' my application is not running. It closes automatically as some exception occurs. I really dont know what the error is as when I try to run the application individually, it does run.
1) Is there some specific path where I need to place my application , like Root - Application?
2) Could anyone provide some articles on how to set up the automation project?
Re: Automating application which uses WPF controls
Are you saying the exception is thrown on the Process.Start() method? This method is part of the core .NET framework and not specific to the UIAutomation namespace. Cant you look at the details exception in your IDE, or get your test program to write the message to the console?
There are a number of third pary frameworks (e.g. White) that are starting to appear that provide a layer of abstraction to UIAutomation. But you still need to be pretty proficient in .NET programming to get the most out of them.
