New to QA Forums. I tried searching for something resembling the title of this thread but had no luck. Figured I'd post a thread and see what happens.
My question is this: Can you start and stop recording in ACT with the same session? For instance, you want to create a new test and record broswer activity, so you create a dynamic test and start recording. When you start recording, say you hit Google, browse around for a bit and then you stop the recording. But you want resume recording some activity on Google, so you hit start again. The problem is that a new browser window is opened instead of just resuming the one it originally opened.
Is there a way around this or a setting I just haven't found? I would like to get this solved so that I can record browser activity in chunks because the application is composed of several independent modules.
Because ACT explicitly creates one. Every time you hit "start recording" in ACT, it's thinking you're going to be recording a new script entirely.
I don't think ACT supports recording for a while...stopping it, and then recording for a bit again.
More than likely you'll need to record each separate part, then take the recorded steps and consolidate them into one script. For the most part, this would merely be copy/paste and correct Sub() numbers. I have done that in the past when I had to add a step the middle of the script. I hit start, record the minimum to get past the needed step, then insert what I require into my previous script.
I prefer 'maliciously mischevious'.
